Welcome by the FEI President and the FEI Secretary General

Dear Friends,

Welcome the FEI Sports Forum 2021. This year once again we are gathering online due to the restrictions linked the Covid-19 pandemic, which is still ongoing in many parts of the world. The Sports Forum is a discussion platform of which the FEI is very proud. Since 2012 our community has congregated annually to address key issues. We have debated with an open mind and in a spirit of constructive dialogue. Our discussions have contributed to crucial advancements in equestrian sport and therefore it was important to meet once again this year, albeit remotely.

The year 2021 is an exceptional year for the FEI. Not only is it an Olympic and Paralympic year, with the Tokyo2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games scheduled to kick off in under two months’ time, but it is a year when the FEI celebrates its centenary. To mark this remarkable anniversary, the FEI is launching a celebratory campaign and the Sports Forum will be the opportunity to acknowledge the momentous occasion.

The FEI Sports Forum 2021 will open with a session dedicated to preparations for the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games. It will be the opportunity to review once again the climate mitigation measures put in place for the Games along with the Clean Sport campaigns for both human and equine athletes. A time slot will be allocated to questions and answers and we encourage all those involved in the Olympic and Paralympic Games, be they athletes, coaches, chefs d’équipe, officials, veterinarians, grooms, medical professionals, NFs, and any other to join the online discussion.

Three FEI disciplines – Jumping, Vaulting, and Driving – are undergoing full revisions this year and three sessions will be dedicated to the major changes proposed for each discipline. Supporting documents will be published online as guidance for these sessions, and, as always, constructive dialogue will be welcomed during the Sports Forum.

This year’s novelty will be a session dedicated to grooms, who play a vital role in our sport and are crucial for the welfare of our horses. To date, this key group does not have a dedicated professional association and its voice is not heard in relation to FEI governance. It is therefore our collective duty in our 100th year to provide this important stakeholder with the recognition it deserves, which will be beneficial for the sport as a whole.

As always, the FEI Sport Forum is open to all and we encourage all stakeholders to register online and take an active part in the debate. We thank you in advance and look forward to interesting and fruitful discussions.

Longines is proud to introduce a model from its famously known Longines DolceVita collection. A byword for glamour and femininity, the line is an ode to the sweetness of life. Distinguished by its relentless pursuit of excellence, the collection subtly pairs diamonds and softened lines to highlight elegant dynamism.

The boldly sophisticated and feminine design will delight women wishing to make their own statement of contemporary elegance.

Driven by its universally recognized excellence and quest for femininity in all its diversity, the Longines DolceVita collection has met with widespread global success since its inception. Inspired by the Italian sweet life “dolce vita”, it was created to perfectly reflect different personalities of women who know how to make the most of simple pleasures in life. Elegant and sleek, this collection delicately blends geometric lines with soft curves to accentuate the artistic allure of the models.

The design featuring one-of-a-kind proportion and glamour will not fail to delight women who unapologetically have a carefree attitude and enjoy spending a joyful day at the racetrack by being effortless chic with an exceptional timepiece. Cased in stainless steel and adorned with sparkling diamonds for a total of 0.552 carats, the model presented for the event comes in a rectangular case dimension of 23.30 x 37.00mm. A silvercolored “flinqué” dial features painted Roman numerals echoing the blued steel hands, adding an extra touch of simple purity. A quartz movement was developed to ensure fundamental gains in terms of precision, power reserve and reliability. To complete the set, a blue alligator strap echoes the dominant color of the dial harmoniously. The interchangeability of straps offers additional playfulness to the style.

The gap between our “sports” clothes and what we used to wear when riding always seemed strange to us. Over time, it became so absurd to feel restricted and hindered that we decided to create Horse Pilot.
Horse Pilot designs technical clothes for the riders who experience riding as a sport. A sport which involves moving, sweating, enduring the rain and sometimes falling down. To meet those needs, we use all the tools offered by textile technology: materials, cuts and a garment construction that allow for posture, breathability, insulation and protection.
We think that with the appropriate equipment, you can ride longer and better, outdo yourself and enjoy it. Since we like riding horses, it would be a shame to deprive ourselves of all this.
TECHNOLOGY: A TOOL FOR RIDERS

We work with a network of suppliers, research departments and experts to provide riders with the best of what technical textiles can offer. We draw our inspiration from technological progress in sportswear, whether they come from mountain climbing, running, motorcycling or swimming, to make moving easier, to protect the athletes and improve their performance.
PRODUCTS MADE TO LAST

Horse riding mistreats clothes, that’s a fact. However, it’s not a reason why riding clothes should be disposable. Our products are designed to last, to resist abrasions and cleaning as well as the repairs we offer.
TAKING OUR RESPONSIBILITIES

To us, it is obvious that we are responsible for the impact of our activity. This is why we strive to minimize our footprint at all levels.

♦ Designing long-lasting and repairable products

♦ Using eco-friendly textile materials

♦ Promoting an eco-friendly cleaning of our products

♦ Minimizing packaging
