Lausanne (SUI) 31 Mar - 01 Apr 2025

Welcome by the FEI President and the FEI Secretary General

Dear members of the international equestrian community,

Esteemed colleagues,

Dear friends,

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the 13th edition of the FEI Sports Forum, which will take place on 31 March and 1 April 2025.

Every year since 2012, we have gathered for exciting discussions, which never fail to be open and honest, and which are crucial for the development of our sport. In moments of triumph and trial, such as in 2020 and 2021, when due to the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, we had to shift to a virtual format, our dialogue never ceased.

In 2025, we are delighted to meet once again face to face at the prestigious IMD Business School in Lausanne, the Olympic Capital, to debate and plan the future of equestrian sport.

The morning of the first day, Monday, 31 March will be dedicated to the qualification systems for Eventing, Dressage, Para Dressage and Jumping for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The second session will focus on the Dressage Strategic Action Plan. In the afternoon, we will continue our dialogue on the FEI Equine Welfare Strategy Action Plan, where an update on key initiatives will be provided. The day will conclude with a presentation and discussion of the proposed key changes to the FEI Jumping Rules, which this year are undergoing full revision.

A session on the profile and potential job description of the future FEI President will kick off the second day, Tuesday, 1 April. Sessions on the FEI Eventing Rules as well as the FEI Driving and Para Driving Rules, which are also undergoing full revision, will follow. The eighth and last session of the FEI Sports Forum 2025 will be dedicated to the Officials Working Group.

As for every edition of the Sports Forum, you will find all the information you need on this platform including a comprehensive timetable, details on each of the sessions, key deadlines, contact information, travel, accommodation and fees for registration.

We look forward to seeing you in Lausanne shortly and to having interesting and lively discussions that will continue to serve the best interest of our community.

Longines and the equestrian world

Longines and the equestrian world have always maintained close ties, with unwavering passion and shared values. Tradition, elegance, performance and the quest for achievement: Longines’ involvement in the equestrian sports goes back to 1869, when the brand produced its first-ever pocket watch with an equestrian motif. In 1878, Longines developed its first chronograph movement, driven by a single push-piece integrated into the winding crown and carefully mounted in a case engraved with a jockey and his horse. Longines’ name soon became associated with sports timekeeping. Since 1912, the year when it first supported a showjumping competition, Longines became the partner of the world’s most prestigious equestrian events. Today, on the strength of its credentials and expertise, Longines' involvement in equestrian sports extends to showjumping, dressage, eventing and flat racing.
Based in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, since 1832, Longines is a world’s leading Swiss watchmaker established in over 150 countries. It is known for the elegance of its timepieces and has constantly stood at the forefront of innovation for nearly two centuries.
