Lausanne (SUI) 29-30 April 2024

Welcome by the FEI President and the FEI Secretary General

Dear members of the international equestrian community,

Esteemed colleagues,

Dear friends,

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the 12th edition of the FEI Sports Forum, which will take place on 29 and 30 April 2024.

Every year since 2012, we have gathered in Lausanne, the Olympic Capital, for exciting discussions, which never fail to be open and honest, and which are crucial for the development of our sport. In good times and bad, such as in 2020 and 2021, when due to the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, we had to shift to a virtual format, our dialogue never ceased.

In this Olympic year, we are delighted to meet once again face to face at the prestigious IMD Business School to debate and plan the future of equestrian sport.

The morning of the first day, Monday, 29 April, will be dedicated to our continued dialogue on the final report of the Equine Ethics and Wellbeing Commission. We will take the time to discuss over three hours a proposed action plan and receive feedback on practical actions put in place by the National Federations.

The second session will focus on sustainability in equestrian sport. The day will conclude with a presentation on the proposed changes to the FEI Equine Anti-Doping and Controlled Medication Regulations, which this year are the only FEI rules undergoing full revision.

Another lengthy session – this one dedicated to a comprehensive review of the FEI Championships – will take up the morning of the second day, Tuesday, 30 April. Sessions on the athlete safeguarding and gender matters in equestrian sport will be held in the afternoon.

As for every edition of the Sports Forum, you will find all the information you need on this platform including a comprehensive timetable, details on each of the sessions, key deadlines, contact information, travel, accommodation and fees for registration.

We look forward to seeing you in Lausanne in April and to having interesting and lively discussions that will continue to serve the best interest of our community.
