Additional Dressage and Para Dressage Certifications

The FEI has set up two additional certifications :

1. A procedure to certify a Paperless Judging software/solution for the disciplines of Dressage and Para Dressage
2. A procedure to certify a Freestyle DoD Scoring system for the discipline of Dressage (on request)

If your software offers the necessary features and matches the technical requirements it can be presented to the FEI for certification.

It is compulsory to have a certified system in order to offer a paperless judging solution at FEI Events.

Being certified by the FEI can assist and promote IT providers who work with international equestrian Events.

Organising Committees who use a FEI Certified Service Provider will be guaranteed to fulfill all FEI specifications.

The names of the certified software and IT providers will be published on the FEI website for National Federations and Organising Committees to consult, which will assist them with the organisation of their Events.

Certification of Dressage/Para Dressage Paperless Judging Solution

A Dressage/Para Dressage Paperless Judging Solution is a solution that allows the judging of Dressage/Para Dressage competitions without using paper scoresheets. All information regarding a paperless judging solution is available in the document “Dressage Paperless Judging system Features and Requirements” which you can find at the bottom of the page.

A paperless judging solution has to meet three main criteria:

• Accuracy: The ability to correctly calculate all scores of the Dressage/Para Dressage performance, as well as an easy-to-use interface for the scribes to enter marks and comments correctly
• Reliability: The reliability of the solution in terms of connection and data exchange between the different devices used to build the scoring system
• Security: The ability of the solution to be safe and tamperproof

 

In order to be approved, the solution will be evaluated on the elements listed above; this will be done through different steps and phases detailed in the document you can find at the bottom of the page

How to become certified

You must fulfill the FEI criteria to become a FEI Certified Dressage/Para Dressage Paperless Judging system. You will find the certification requirements of the Dressage/Para Dressage Paperless Judging solution at the bottom of the page.

If you meet all the requirements needed, you can send your application by filling out the relevant application form that you can find at the bottom of the page.

The certification test can be done either online - by a video conference, or on site - at the FEI Headquarters.

If you are successful, you will then become a FEI Certified Dressage/Para Dressage Paperless Judging system.

Costs and renewal

The certification procedure to become a FEI Certified Dressage Paperless Judging system costs CHF 11'000. This covers the administrations fees of the certification as well as the Audit and Pen Test of the solution. This must be paid at the same time as you submit your application, proof of payment must be sent by email to results@fei.org for your application to be valid.

If you are unsuccessful, you will be able to re-apply once more within twelve months following your first certification test. The cost for reapplication will depend on the specific part that needs to be re-evaluated and will be provided to you based on the request made by the IT Security audit company.

The certification lasts 12 months; after 12 months you will need to renew the certification. This yearly renewal costs CHF 500.
