The Aim: Equestrianism is a lifestyle that promotes the partnership of the human and the horse. This way of life is based on horsemanship. FEI Solidarity provides different types of support and assistance linked to its values through different types of projects, these include:
WELFARE OF THE HORSE
Beneficiaries: Equine practicing Veterinarians, Farriers, Grooms
Projects Operators: FEI Veterinary/Solidarity Departments, Vet. Clinics, Technical Experts
1. | Scholarships for practicing equine Veterinarians // Financial assistance (incl. travel expenses, lodging costs & training) |
Ongoing training (2-3 months) for equine practicing Vets from developing NFs in appointed equine vet clinics. |

2. | Farriers training // Technical assistance |
To train local Farriers shoeing horses via practical training delivered by a Technical Expert (courses). |

3. | Grooms training // Technical assistance |
To train local Grooms via practical training delivered by a Technical Expert (courses) incl. Horsemanship. |
THE HORSE
Beneficiaries: NF Technical Staff, Vets, Horses’ trainers, Breeders, etc.
Projects Operators: FEI Development Officer, FEI Veterinary Department, Consultant, WBFSH
4. | Retraining of Racehorses // Financial assistance & Technical Expert(s) appointed by FEI |
To educate local horses’ trainers on techniques used to retrain race horses with the help of Experts. |

5. | Breeding issues // Consultancy services |
To advise NF Technical Staff, Vets and Breeders on breeding issues. |
SPORT FOR ALL
Beneficiaries: Children from public schools; Children from social disadvantaged environment
Projects Operators: NFs, Schools, etc.
6. | Schools programme // Financial assistance |
To promote equestrian sport through giving schools Children access to riding facilities/clubs/riding schools and introduce them to the sport via riding lessons/activities. |

7. | Youth Summer Camps // Financial assistance |
To promote equestrian sport by giving access to riding activities to Children from underprivileged environment who could normally not take part in it. |
SOCIAL INCLUSION
Beneficiaries: Underprivileged Persons; physically handicapped Persons
Projects Operators: FEI Solidarity Department, National Federations, Technical Experts
8. | Rehabilitation through Equitation // Financial assistance |
Horse-based therapy projects to assist Persons (Youth, Adults) who are experiencing school failure and/or behavioural difficulties in socialising, to be re-inserted in the society through horse sport. |

9. | From therapeutic riding to Para-Equestrian sport // Financial assistance & Technical Expert(s) appointed by FEI |
To give physically handicapped Persons (Youth, Adults) access to Para-Equestrian sport via specific programmes |
