WHY THE FEI?
The FEI is the global governing body for equestrian sport and currently oversees seven distinct disciplines and over 4’500 international events around the world.  Founded in 1921, it is one of the 33 members of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF).

In 2015, ‘The Sports Governance Observer’ report ranked the FEI first in overall Governance amongst 35 other Olympic International Sports Federations. The findings reported our transparency, excellent checks and balances, transparency and robust election procedures. In 2016, the FEI was named ‘International Sports Federation of the Year’ at the International Sports Awards. In 2017, the FEI was awarded the “sky is the limit” trophy by the IOC President, Thomas Bach.
