Board Resolution
Extension of Pony Measuring derogation

(DEROGATED BY BOARD RESOLUTION OF 14 DECEMBER 2021)

The FEI Board approved a recommendation by the FEI Veterinary Committee to extend the derogation from Article 1085 in the FEI Veterinary Regulations to allow newly registered ponies to compete within Europe without an FEI Pony Interim/Lifetime Measuring Certificate. This By-Law, which originally was set to expire on 30 June 2021 has now been extended to 31 December 2021 as the ongoing pandemic and challenges linked to travel in Europe have affected the organisation of FEI Pony Measuring Sessions.

Emergency Board Resolution*
Veterinary Regulations

The Board approved the following Resolutions under Art. 20.3 of the FEI Statutes (Emergency Situation).

  • Equine Influenza (EI) Vaccination Requirements. The Board approved to temporarily derogate the application of Articles 23, 24 and 25 of Annex VI of the Veterinary Regulations until 31 December 2020 given the fact that from an immunological perspective this waiver does not constitute a risk for lower immunity against EI.
  • Pony Measurement. The Board approved to temporarily derogate Article 1087.2 of the Veterinary Regulations in order to allow for ponies newly registered as of 1 January 2020 to be able to compete without an FEI height certificate until 31 December 2020. Three events are exempt from the derogation: FEI European Pony Championships; FEI Jumping Nations Cup Youth Final; FEI Jumping Ponies Trophy Final. The FEI Veterinary Regulations 2020 (Article 1087.4) will apply and measurement will be carried out in accordance with Annex IX of the Veterinary Regulations. For these three events, where possible, Measuring Sessions will be organised for the newly registered ponies in advance of the Events.

No NFs signified disapproval by the deadline of 16 May 2020. These FEI Board Resolutions are therefore final.
