What is the OEP?

The OEP provides financial support to FEI Officials:

• seeking international officiating experience
• attending a shadow judging examination
• travelling to a Level 4 Course. These Officials can apply for a refund of Economy-class airfare costs exceeding CHF 500.-

Who can apply?

The OEP is available to all FEI Officials, with a limit of one request every two years per Official.

How to apply?

Requests must be submitted before the event via the Officials Exchange Programme Application Form and sent to the relevant FEI Discipline Department or FEI Veterinary Department for approval.

Application procedure:

1. Contact the Organising Committee (OC): The applicant should contact the OC of the event they wish to gain experience at and check if they can join the Officials’ team for that event. The FEI can provide the OC’s contact details upon request.
2. Estimate travel expenses: If the applicant receives a positive response from the OC, they must estimate their travel expenses and include this information in the OEP Application Form*, which is to be sent to the relevant FEI Department.
3. FEI decision: The FEI reviews the application, decides whether to cover travel costs in part, in full, or not at all, and communicates its decision to the applicant.
4. Arrange travel and retain receipts: The applicant arranges travel and retains the receipts for the specific expenses agreed upon with the FEI in Step 3.
5. Submit receipts and reports: After the event, the applicant sends the receipts, Expense Claim Form and Feedback Report* to the FEI for reimbursement of the approved amount.
   Note: Only FEI Officials listed in the event schedule will be reimbursed.

The OEP cannot be used:

• For major Events and Championships
• By Level 4 Officials
• Every year (only once every two years)
