International events organisers are required by the FEI to provide adequate medical coverage at their event (article 109.10, FEI General Regulations). The requirements for all FEI disciplines are detailed in the General Medical Coverage Requirements for FEI Events.
Additional discipline specific requirements may also apply in accordance with the relevant sports rules (such as Eventing Rules, Annex D).
The FEI's recommendations on the diagnosis and management of Concussion at FEI Events also provide essential information as well as a detailed process to plan for and manage concussion issues on competition sites.
Organisers are welcome to send an email to the FEI Medical Committee for advice on the medical coverage planning of their event.
