General Questions

When do I need to check-out the Horses from my Event?

The Horses must be checked-out via the FEI HorseApp on the day the Horse leaves the FEI Event Venue. This provides correct information on the location of the Horse and is essential for Horse traceability. We suggest you check-out the Horse when you give the FEI documents/Horse passports back to the Athlete/Owner.

I couldn’t check-out the Horse on the day of departure, what should I do?

If for some reason you did not have the possibility to check-out a Horse on the day of departure, please do not check-out the Horse the day after or several days after. Please contact usersupport@fei.org with the name and FEI ID of the Horse and the departure date.

What happens if I check the Horse out the day after or several days after it has left the Venue?

If a Horse is not checked out on the day of departure, not only is the Horse traceability information incorrect, but an incorrect sanction will be issued for the PR of this Horse. It is the responsibility of the Organising Committee to check-out the Horses on the day the Horse leaves the FEI Venue.

How to check-out Horses when there is no or poor internet connection?

It is rare for an Organiser or Show Office to not have an internet connection, but if this is the case then the check-out can be done later in the day perhaps when back at the hotel/home or connected to a local Wi-Fi network – however it must be done the same day the Horse leaves the Venue.

Can national Horses be stabled in FEI stables?

Horses that are not competing in FEI Events and/or are not FEI Horses must be stabled in complete separate stables from the FEI Horses.

If national Horses are stabled in the FEI stables they would be considered the same as non-competing/transit Horses and must adhere to Art. 1003 of the FEI Veterinary Regulations; This means having a FEI ID number, being examined on arrival and fulfilling the Horse Health Requirements even if they are not competing in FEI Events.

As Organiser, it is important you communicate accordingly to the Athletes coming to your Event if their national Horses will be stabled in the FEI stables so they are aware of the requirements that need to be fulfilled.
