How to be sure that entries fees are effectively paid

Forums:

Hi.
Some athletes sell there horse when arriving on venues and "forget" to pay their entry to the O C.
They withdraw and disappear.
In such a case it might be a good idea to allow the OC to block any further entry for the persons concerned as the validate the entries before the event.
Then they will have a grip on the money due to them.

Officials for Eventing and Eventing in Developing Countries

Forums:

Officials for Eventing need to be compensated for their Travel Costs and accommodation and catered for. They do not necessarily need a "Salary" for what they do, but we must acknowledge the work that they do and the responsibilities that go with being a TD etc. The welfare of the Rider and the Horse are paramount and are in the hands of these Officials. In the poorer and younger Countries/ National Federations there is very little money available for a Sport that is considered to be Elitist. Sponsorship is almost non-existent; it goes to the sport of the 'masses'!

Accreditation of FEI SJ Judges in developing NFS

Forums:

Many developing countries have only one CSI per year, or maybe not even one. Therefore Judges ALWAYS have to travel for accreditation. We would like to see the following:
• WJC Competition 3 AND if Competition 1 & 2 have a foreign judge to be used as an accreditation for judges
• Federation National Championships – if run in an FEI format and with a FEI foreign judge to also count for judge accreditation.

Appointments

Forums:

Currently, appointments are only done for CSI4*/5* and "special" events. In my opinion it would be a good idea to also do these appointments for CSI3* events. In fact, for all "higher level" events. CSI2* events per definition have less price money, have less budget and therefor it is logic that these events are looking for foreign judges of neighbouring countries to reduce cost.

Refresher seminars and rule changes

Forums:

Refresher seminars are being held on a yearly basis, at least for International Jumping judges. It is indeed costly to attend every year on one's own expense but the seminars provide the best forum to stay up to date with rule revisions, trends and case studies. It would be very helpful to have access to the presentations given at the refresher seminars on line via the FEI website for those who cannot attend personally.
