Endurance - technical rides

I have read with interest the comments made about endurance and the proposed changes.

One thing appears to come up regularly. The need/wish to return to a more technical course and to move away from fast flat courses.

I would like to ask readers views on how we can achieve more technical courses in some areas of the world. Some countries are flatter than others, how can these countries create a more technical track? Holland, some areas of the USA, Spain and the desert countries will find it difficult to have a hilly technical course.

I am greatly in favor of more technical courses. (Tevis, Florac, Tom Quilty to name a few). Courses that encourage slower speeds and give the horse and rider combination something to think about rather than just speed.
A move back to a ride being won out on the course, rather than in the vet gate.

If the rides become more technical, then we would need to consider reviewing the minimum speeds required.
