Rules, Results & Standings

The overall Eventing Nations Cup™ Classification rules will be adapted for 2022 as follows (FEI Board resolution 14 December 2021).

The final classification will be calculated as per below:

  • If ten (10) Events take place, the best nine (9) results Events will count towards the final classification (as per regular ones as one leg does not take place in Europe); 
  • If nine (9) Events take place, the best eight (8) results Events will count towards the final classification (as per regular ones as one leg does not take place in Europe); 
  • If eight (8) Events take place, the best seven (7) results Events will count towards the final classification (as per regular rules as one leg does not take place in Europe);
  • If seven (7) Events take place, the best six (6) results Events will count towards the final classification (as per regular rules as one leg does not take place in Europe);
  • If six (6) Events take place, the best five (5) results Events will count towards the final classification (as per regular rules as one leg does not take place in Europe);
  • If five (5) Events take place, the best four (4) results Events will count towards the final classification (as per regular rules as one leg does not take place in Europe);
  • If four (4) Events take place, the best three (3) results Events will count towards the final classification (as per regular rules as one leg does not take place in Europe); 
  • If less than three (3) Events take place: the team results for the CCIOs organised will be included to count for the following year’s FEI Eventing Nations Cup™ 2023 classification.

Point System

The final classification of the Series will be made by accumulation of the points obtained in each FEI Nations Cup Eventing Competition according to the points scale below.

In case of a tie in the final classification, the tie will be decided in favor of the nation that has participated in a greater number of Events.
If the tie remains, for competitions that count according to the paragraph above, the individual final scores (total penalty points) of the best three (3) team members will be added.
1000 penalty points would be awarded to any Athlete not having completed the Competition.
The tie will be decided in favor of the Team with the lower of such totals.

Participation / Entries / Draws of Nations Starting Order

Team: The Teams will be composed of 3 or 4 Athletes from the same Nation. The 3 best results of each Team will be taken into account for the Team classification.

Individuals: There is no limit to the number of FEI Nations Cup Eventing Events that Athletes / Horses can compete in.

FEI Rules for Eventing relating to Team competitions (CIO) will apply, they can be consulted here.

Individual Ranking Points: Athletes will be allocated Individual points for the FEI World Eventing Athlete Rankings for each Event (CCIO4*) of the Series as per the current Ranking Rules.

Minimum participation: A minimum of three teams must be entered and compete at each Event of the Series in order to validate the Event as a Nations Cup.

In accordance to FEI regulations, procedure and time shall be published in the FEI Schedule of the Event.

Prize-Money / Expenses / Entry Fees

In 2022 OCs of Nations Cup Eventing will not be required to offer a minimum prizemoney amount to teams for the 2022 Eventing Nations Cup season.

FEI Rosettes and trophy will be awarded to the winning team.
