Welcome to the Reining page which provides details of all Resolutions & Decisions taken during the Covid-19 affected period. As you can see, the information is catalogued chronologically with the most recent Resolution/Decision at the top.

PLEASE NOTE: On 17 November 2021 the FEI General Assembly voted to remove Reining as an FEI discipline. The removal of Reining took immediate effect and is reflected in the 24th edition of the FEI Statutes, effective as of 17 November, available here. As a result, no new resolutions are being added to the table below.

*Indicates an Emergency Board Decision as per Article 20.3 of the FEI Statutes, whereby in an Emergency Situation - a serious situation or occurrence that happens unexpectedly and clearly requires immediate action - the Board may, by a two-thirds (2/3) majority of votes cast, pass Resolutions which are normally the prerogatives of the General Assembly. National Federations are informed of all Emergency Resolutions and those eligible to vote have up to 30 days of the date of the notice to declare their disapproval by contacting the FEI Director Governance & Institutional Affairs. The deadlines are clearly marked within each resolution.

Calendar Task Forces
 

Based on the Resolution of the Board of 24 March 2020, the Board confirmed that the Calendar Task Forces would remain in place in 2021 until further decision from the Board.

Emergency Board Resolution *
Covid-19 Calendar measures 2021: Deadlines for late date applications and Date Clash Rules
 

The Board approved additional updates to the Resolution on deadlines for late date applications and Date Clash Rules initially approved on 10 September, including increased “leniency” on some deadlines until further notice. The relevant table can be found here. This table includes the deadlines by which the Calendar late date application/modification forms, draft schedules and Covid-19 risk assessment and mitigation plans must be received for Events to be considered for inclusion in the Calendar.

No NFs signified disapproval by the deadline of 17 January 2021. This FEI Board Resolution is therefore final.

Organisers' Covid-19 Fees
 

The Board agreed not to allow any additional Covid-19 Fees to be included by the Organisers in the Draft Schedules.

Emergency Board Resolution*
Reining Calendar: Deadline by which the NFs/OCs should provide their Dates for Postponed Events
 

The Board approved the following Resolution under Art. 20.3 of the FEI Statutes (Emergency Situation).

Until 31 December 2020:

  • Applications and/or modifications for Higher Level Events dates must reach the FEI Secretary General at least four weeks prior to the Event

No NFs signified disapproval by the deadline of 28 May 2020. The FEI Board Resolution is therefore final.

Reining Calendar: Date Clash Rules
 

The Board approved the following Resolution under Art. 20.3 of the FEI Statutes (Emergency Situation).

Until 31 December 2020:

  • No Date Clash Rules will apply to any CRIs

Continental Championship for Youth 2020
 

The Board agreed that:

  • The decision to maintain a Championship or not should be taken at the latest 10 weeks before the Championship.
  • If the Championships is postponed at a later date in 2020, it should not take place outside the school holidays.

Ranking Mitigation Policies
 

The Covid-19 outbreak has led to the cancellation or postponement of numerous international events in various regions of the world as of March 2020 and it is still uncertain when the sport will resume at a normal pace. To mitigate the impact this will have on the Longines Rankings and FEI Rankings, until the situation is stabilised the Board has approved two Mitigation Policies: the Longines Rankings and the FEI Rankings.
