Re-allocation of FEI Driving World Championship four in hand 2020

In line with the FEI Board decision taken during the three-day videoconference in June, the FEI Driving World Championship four in hand  will take place in Valkenswaard (NED) in October 2020.

The Championship, which had originally been scheduled to take place in Kronenberg (NED) in September 2020, was cancelled due to the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Following the recommendation by the Driving Task Force to find a solution to hold the Championship in 2020, the Dutch Organisers and National Federation contacted the FEI offering to host the Championship.  The Chair of the Driving Committee presented Valkenswaard’s application during the three-day videoconference and it was agreed by the Board that, subject to receipt by the FEI of the signed Host Agreement, which has now been received, the Organisers at Valkenswaard will host the FEI Driving World Championship four in hand  from 7–11 October 2020. The FEI is aware of the recently updated travel restrictions in force in Europe regarding the entry of citizens from certain countries, including the United States, and will monitor the situation closely.

The Board confirmed that all provisions of the FEI Driving Rules would apply to the Championship.

In line with the FEI Policy for Enhanced Competition Safety during the Covid-19 Pandemic, a set of key measures and actions will apply during the Event to mitigate the risk of Covid-19 transmission. The Organising Committee’s risk assessment and mitigation measures will be published on the FEI website in advance of the deadline for Definite Entries.
