FEI General Regulations - Changes for 2025

FEI General Regulations Changes 2025

Application for and Allocation of FEI-Named Events (Article 106)

  • Restrictions on the number of consecutive World or Continental Championships allocations to National Federations have been removed to provide more flexibility in the allocation process.
  • The FEI Board can now allocate a Championship to the same organiser for more than one edition.

Allocation and Distribution of Prizes (Articles 127 & 128)

Prize money must be paid by bank transfer. Payment in cash is only allowed if prior FEI approval is obtained or if the prize money amount is below a certain threshold.

Horse Abuse Reporting (Article 142)

Clarification that horse abuse should be reported via the specific Horse Abuse Reporting Form on the FEI website.

Sanctions for Misconduct (Article 164)

  • A new sanction allows the FEI to disqualify ranking points and recover prize money in cases of fraudulent conduct affecting competition results.
  • Table of sanctions has been reviewed and expanded to cover additional offences in the GRs and to ensure proportionality and consistency of the sanctions.
  • Horse abuse sanctions have been slightly increased, reflecting the Equine Ethics & Wellbeing Commission's action plan and social licence considerations.
