IN MEMORIAM
Rudolf Rautschka (AUT) passed away on 7 February, at the age of 80. Rautschka built up the Stewarding System in Austria, acted as Steward General of Austria until 1999 and was Chief Steward at numerous events including the 1991 World Pairs Driving Championships in Zwettl.
Rautschka was also responsible for the foundation of the MCP programme in Austria. After his successful business career as a chemical engineer he studied veterinarian science and history. His other passion apart from carriage driving was the history of equestrian sport.
Austria has lost a person who never stopped striving to better the welfare of the horse.
