Fernando López del Hierro, Olympic rider at the 1952 Olympic Games, passed away on 3 June in Madrid aged 97. He was buried in Granada where he had been born on 25 September 1908.
Cavalry General López del Hierro dedicated the better part of his life to equestrian sport achieving numerous successes. In 1951 in Barcelona, he clearead a water jump of 8m30 on the horse Amado Mio. He kept this record until 1975.
