André Paquin passed away on 4 November 2006. Mr. Paquin was an athlete who spent much of his free time driving and training his horse and was a challenger in combined (horse) driving competition in Canada, USA and at the world pair in Europe in 2005.

He initiated the Quebec driving association ‘La société d’attelage du Bas-Canada‘, was a very respected pair driver and the Canadian leader in the pair horse division. His ultimate goal was achieved last year, when he represented Canada in Europe for the first time at the world pair championship.

His last equestrian activity was in September, judging a preliminary show in St-Gervais, Quebec. André was a proud and respected person, a real definition of a gentleman for his kindness. He took great pleasure interacting with his driving friends and his respect for the show organizers, officials and volunteers was always apparent. His love for Horses was very important in his life.

André is survived by his wife Yolande Allard, his two daughters; Caroline and Julie and Louis Allard, his driving navigator and brother in law.
