This week-end in Manerbio, Italy

The sport of Reining has gone a long way, and fast! Following the acceptance of the discipline by the FEI in 2000, only two years later Reining was included in the World Equestrian Games and the following year, the very first FEI European Reining Championships was organized hosted in Reggio Emilia, Italy.

The first European Championship saw the participation of eight nations (Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain, Israel, Italy and Switzerland).

Starting on 5 May, the second edition of the FEI European Reining championships will be held at the Palasturla Facility in Manerbio, Italy. Twelve participating nations (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary Italy, Poland, Switzerland and The Netherlands), of which three individual riders (Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland), will be leaving their tracks in the wonderful new facility where the inaugural show, the Italian Futurity, was held last year in November and where the FEI World Reining Masters Series Final will take place this coming September.

Representatives from the FEI, Reining horse associations and national federations form all over the world will travel to Manerbio to attend the second edition of the FEI European Reining Championship, to be held in conjunction with the Italian Reining Horse Association Derby - and as the President of the Organising Committee, Eleuterio Arcese, once again underlined, it will be yet another occasion for everyone to get together and further promote the discipline.
