Spruce Meadows's Nations Cup had to be interrupted. No Samsung Nations Cup points for the six nations participating

Six nations started in the $300,000 BMO Financial Group Nations' Cup at the "Spruce Meadows "Masters" CSIO 5*. For the first time in the event's 29-year history, competition was not completed.

Cold, wet weather throughout the day impacted the conditions to a point where none of the six nations were prepared to start Round Two. The second round course had been modified and approved by the FEI Ground Jury and Veterinary Commission but each nation elected to forego the opportunity to compete.

The official record book will read "No final placings recorded as no team completed two rounds of competition with 3 riders."

Bill Downe, Deputy Chair of the BMO Financial Group, which is sponsoring the Nations Cup in Calgary since its creation, announced that the this year's $300,000 purse, in its entirety, would be allocated to augment the purses of future BMO Financial Group Nations' Cup events.
