Three teams participated in the Jumping competition at the Indian Ocean Games held in Madagascar where the equestrian discipline featured as a demonstration sport. These were: Madagascar, Mauritius and Réunion.
The obstacles were set at 90cm high for both rounds and the teams were exceptionally reduced to a number of three riders due to the lack of horses.
Following the two rounds, Madagascar emerged victorious on a final score of 27 points, followed very closely by Réunion and in third place came Mauritius with 30 points. It was a great experience for all the participants who hope more opportunities of this kind will arise and will no doubt remember the inspirational opening ceremony and the international competition.
