The FEI World Endurance Championship ended just a few moments ago on the victory of Sheikh Hazza bin Sultan Al Nahyan (UAE) and Hachim, who flew over the course at an average speed of 22.68 km/h, to finish in an extremely fast riding time of 7 hours and 3 minutes.

Barbara Lissarague (France) and Georgat crossed the finishing line just one minute later, to earn the silver medal, after a ride of 7 hours 4 minutes average speed 22.63 km/h).

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (UAE) and Nashmi earned the bronze with a riding time of 7 h 8 min (average speed 22.38 km/h).

The ride, which started at 6h00 local time in Dubai and was followed by huge crowds of spectators, is not finished yet.

The Team medals are not yet decided. With one rider having finished and two others still on the track, Italy leads the current team standings 30 minutes ahead of Australia, with one rider having crossed the line and three other still running. Australia is 2 hours ahead of Belgium, third, which in turn is 30 minutes ahead of Brazil.

All competing horses are in good condition. The Vet gate permanent facilities include a state of the art treatment centre, which has luckily not been much used during the championship so far. The course featured nine different oases with water falls especially created in the desert.
