Sweden victorious again in Kecskemét! 
 
No less than twelve nations participated in the Hungarian leg of the Samsung Nations Cup Series last week-end in Kecskemét.

The Swedish team won the Nations Cup after an convincing performance in the first round (6 points) and a faultless second round. Rolf-Göran Bengtsson and Grandina 22 scored a double clear, while his team mate Helena Holm and Carmen-Ghia had a little time fault in the first round.

At the end of the first round, Belgium was in the lead with an immaculate score of 0 point, followed by Great Britain (4 points) and Sweden (6 points). Just behind them with 8 faults, the Czech team created the surprise of the week-end. Poland, who won no less than 4 competitions during the CSIO-W, placed sixth with 9 points, just behind Germany.

Hungary were the first of the eight teams to start in the second round (as they finished 8th in the first round). The clear round of Sándor Szász and Athos lifted the home team to the seventh place.

The French team who scored a disappointing 13 points in the first round ended up in third position thanks to the clear rounds of Nicolas Paillot on Infinie Rivage and Fabrice Dumartin on Hasard du Gisors.

Sweden flew over the second round with clear rounds by all riders to finish the competition with a total score of 6 faults.

Yves Simon and Mazarin des Perees were the only Belgian combination able to repeat their clear performance of the first round, and Belgium had to settle for a disappointing total of 8 faults, leaving the victory to the Scandinavians.

„With this victory, Sweden has a good chance to move up to the Samsung Super League again next year. The competition was very exciting with the final result decided by the last rider on the last obstacle” - explained delighted Antal Baranyai, Head of Media, at the press conference.

With 32 points, Sweden comfortably leads the standings of the Samsung Nations Cup Series ahead of Italy (19) and Austria (16).

Imke Harms (GER) and Rulanda were the quickest in the jump off to win the Grand Prix. Krzysztof Ludwiczak (POL) finished second on Hof Schretstaken Quamiro, followed by Hungarian star Mariann Hugyecz of Kecskemét on Ircos du Rouet.
