The FEI Nations Cup was the final class of the 86th CSIO Lisbon (POR). Brazil’s victory was a confirmation of the good form displayed by the team during the four-day competition. The Brazilians also took home four other prizes, winning a total of five classes among the 11 that were held at Campo Grande’s Hippodrome.
The biggest competition of the last day, the FEI Nations Cup, presented by Câmara Municipal de Lisboa, totalled EUR 50.000 in prize money. In a classic Nations Cup manner, the competition took place over two rounds, in which 11 national teams competed over a 1.60m course. Only the best eight teams went one to the second round. The winner was Brazil, with a total of 13 penalties; they took home EUR 16.500. With 16 points each, Great Britain and Ireland tied for the runner up position gaining EUR 10.000 each.
