Formal Transfer of Governance agreed upon

IPC and the FEI have now agreed the content of the Formal Transfer of Governance and IPC Membership Agreement and are now arranging for the Presidents of both Organisations to meet and to sign these documents. A date sometime in late November, early December is hoped for.

The FEI Para Equestrian Dressage and Driving rule supplements are now virtually finalised and National Federations will soon be asked to comment on these in conjunction with the existing FEI Dressage and Driving Rules already in force.

The Generic Rules for Para Equestrian (detailing the Classification process and how this works within the FEI structure) are also completed and have been circulated.

The FEI Bureau, at its meeting in Bahrain in early December, will be asked to appoint a temporary FEI Para Equestrian Sub Committee who will oversee the discipline whilst applications are received from National Federations for membership of the first Para Equestrian Technical Committee which will be formed in April 2006.

The FEI/IPEC working group which has been in existence throughout 2005 will cease to exist in January 2006 when the FEI will take up the management of the discipline on a day to day basis.

National Federations will be requested to submit applications for the first Committee, such appointed members (5) to serve two (2), three (1) and four (2) year terms to allow for subsequent fazed in replacements as time goes by.

It is planned that the close relationship which has existed between the IPEC Committee members and the Athletes in previous years will fully continue under the new FEI structure aided by the additional input and support from the FEI Member Federations around the world.
