It was another great year filled with exciting Vaulting moments. We saw superstars perform in the spotlight at the FEI World Cup™ Finals, youth rise to the occasion at world championships and we crowned new European champions.
Performing a new ‘Million Dollar Baby’ choreography in the final, Janika Derk’s Freestyle packed a powerful punch and was a knockout with the judges, allowing the German to take the title by an impressive margin. A hair’s breadth separated the Swiss duo, second-placed Marina Mohar and Nadja Büttiker in third.
The Colombian flag was raised in the individual male category as Juan Martin Clavijo Vega wooed the judges with his expression, flexibility and the sheer complexity of his Freestyle. His fantastic performances allowed him to fight off tough competition and to take the title ahead of Jannik Heiland in silver and bronze medallists Thomas Brüsewitz.
The Pas-de-Deux category turned out to be extremely emotional as Theresa-Sophie Bresch and Torben Jacobs (GER) concluded their international Pas-de-Deux career in dominant fashion, defending the title they won so emphatically last year in Dortmund. Both have brought a lot to Pas-de-Deux over the years, inspiring legions of fans around the world, leaving a lasting impact on the sport.

Two individuals and one team from each nation lined up in search of national glory as eight countries battled it out for the chance to be crowned Europe’s best Vaulting nation of 2019. After outstanding performances from Vincent Haennel, Lambert Leclezio and Team Noroc, France narrowly secured the top step on the podium over closest rivals Team Austria. Germany took bronze.
In the Individual Male category, the French flag was raised for Lambert Leclezio, while Justin van Gerven and Chiara Congia dominated the Pas-de-Deux for Germany.
The conclusion of the highly anticipated FEI Vaulting European Championships saw double delight for Austria. Katharina Luschin won individual gold with a graceful and elegant Freestyle and the Austrian squad (Wildegg) took top honours in the highly contested Squad class.
