A delegation from the National Federation of Russia visited the FEI Headquarters on 19 February 2007. The Russian representatives – Dmitry Titov, first Vice-President and Secretary General; Anatoly Orujev, Vice-President; Victoria Panurina, Director of CSI 4* Moscow ; and Ekaterina Shtatnova, press officer – met with FEI Secretary General Michael Stone and the FEI management.
The Russian side presented the Federation’s new structure and plans following elections held last October, long- and short-term development programmes as well as 2007 international competitions. Were discussed, amongst other topics,
- educational programmes and courses for coaches and officials;
- joint PR and marketing programmes; joint work on media relations;
- better use of wildcards for Russian Jumping riders competing in Western Europe;
- organisation of courses for event veterinarians ;
- expanded anti-doping control at national and international events organised in Russia.
The visit was conducted in a friendly atmosphere and was useful to both sides. The FEI is a service organisation, the efforts of which are dedicated to supporting NFs to successfully develop horsesport and the surrounding lifestyle in their countries.
