THE PERFECT PARTNERSHIP - ROLEX AND THE FEI WORLD CUP TM JUMPING SERIES

In its first season as sponsor of the Western European League and global Final, the world's leading watch-maker, Rolex, presents a special booklet introducing the 2007/2008 Rolex FEI World CupTM series.

The Swiss-based company is already involved in four other major sports - golf, sailing, tennis and motor racing - so the addition of equestrianism to that elite grouping underpins the professionalism and integrity of international horsesport today.

The new booklet includes an historical review of the World Cup series since its inception in 1978, and takes a look at each of the cities hosting qualifying legs in the 2007/2008 Western European League. Gothenburg in Sweden, host to the first Final in 1979 and venue for the finale which will take place from 23 to 27 April 2008, receives special attention, and there is a clear explanation of the formula for the closing stages when riders and horses are tested to the limit over three intense days of thrilling competition.

Rolex and equestrianism have links going back over 50 years but the bond grows stronger all the time and, earlier this year, the company put its name to the world rankings for show jumping which is now entitled "The Rolex Rankings".

An elite group of horsemen and horsewomen have become Rolex Testimonees including show jumpers Rodrigo Pessoa from Brazil and Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum from Germany, dressage rider Nadine Capellmann who also flies the German flag, and British eventing stars Pippa Funnell and Zara Phillips. In each case they have achieved an extradordinary level of excellence in their chosen sphere and Rolex recognises this in its own unique way.

The booklet also reflects on the birth, growth and success of the Rolex brand. This exceptional company dates back to the early 20th century and is the perfect partner to the Rolex FEI World CupTM series which also symbolises the quality, precision and performance required to be a true winner.

The booklet is available in .pdf format form the Rolex FEI World Cup™ website www.feiworldcup.org
