Voting by journalists and photographers for the sought-after Rolex FEI World Cup™ Jumping Best Press Office Award will open at the first leg of the 2012/2013 series in Oslo on 14 October.

The 12 press offices covering this season’s legs will be judged according to criteria spanning the efficacy of on-site internet-based services, media-friendly working areas, informative press conferences and the rapid supply of competition information.

The award-winning press office will be announced at a media cocktail event next year at the Rolex FEI World Cup™ Final in Gothenburg (SWE).

The FEI World Cup™ Jumping series began in 1978 and is the world’s oldest and biggest indoor jumping series.

The series now has 16 leagues around the world and is entering its 35th season.

Rolex became the title sponsor of the FEI World Cup™ Jumping series at the start of the 2007/2008 season, the event’s 30th anniversary.

“The FEI World Cup Jumping series is now more popular than ever, thanks to the tremendous work of the organisers, officials, sponsors, the athletes and of course the busy press office teams who work hand in hand with the world’s media,” said John P. Roche, FEI Director Jumping.

"The Rolex FEI World Cup Jumping press officers are hand-picked by the series organisers for their experience and dedication to their challenging roles, and they deserve full recognition for their hard work supporting the media effort.

“As the Best Press Office award is judged by the media working at every series qualifier, winning this award is all the more prestigious."

The Best Press Office award, supported by the series’ title sponsor Rolex, was introduced for the 2010/2011 series and was awarded to the Stuttgart German Masters press office in its inaugural year.

Last year, the accolade was presented to the Jumping Verona press office at the series Final in ‘s-Hertogenbosch (NED).
