The FEI announced today its hiring of Alexander McLin as its new Legal Director

For the last 4 years, Alex McLin has been General Counsel and member of the senior management team of CNET Channel, a Swiss-based division of CNET Networks, Inc., a US media focused on the technology industry. He was responsible for all corporate legal matters, including litigation and negotiation of licensing and service contracts. Previously, McLin was an associate at the law firm of Baker & McKenzie in New York, where he worked as a litigator primarily on international arbitration matters before panels of the ICC’s International Court of Arbitration. Prior to practicing law, McLin was responsible for developing the programmes of various meetings of the World Economic Forum, including its Annual Meeting in Davos. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Haverford College, and a J.D. from the Duke University School of Law. He is a member of the New York Bar.

McLin is stepping into a position previously held by FEI Secretary General Bo Helander. The decision to appoint a separate Legal Director reflects the significant growth in caseload and overall demand on the FEI’s Legal Department in the past 12 months, the FEI’s commitment to ensuring fair and efficient handling of medication cases before the relevant decision-making bodies, continued proper implementation of the WADA World Anti-Doping Code, as well as to providing the FEI Secretariat with the necessary legal resources to adequately support the development of its commercial activities. "Alex’s significant and varied corporate and international legal experience will be a significant asset to the organization," said Helander.
