Sweden makes a run for it

With the coveted Junior European team title up for grabs yesterday, the unexpected took over. Indeed, following a fantastic day of sport and suspense, Sweden emerged as the Junior European Jumping Champions despite the fact that they were placed only 8th at the onset of the second round where the number of teams had been reduced from 25 (in the first round) to 12. While for Germany the successes in the first round were not matched in the second which saw them relegated to second place. To the delight of the crowds, France, on home ground, took the Bronze medal, with again a remarkable climb up the ladder following the first round.

The competition for the Young Riders team title is ongoing today, Friday 27 July, with results expected at 18h.

The starting order is as follows:
1- Switzerland
2- France
3- Norway
4- Italy
5- Portugal
6- Spain
7- the Netherlands
8- Great Britain
9- Ireland
10- Germany
11- Poland
12- Denmark
