Over two million people connected around the world for the FEI’s interactive social media competition #SupportYourNation during last week’s Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping Final in Barcelona (ESP). That’s enough people to fill the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona 400 times!

Overall winner Valen Maniotti was selected randomly from the more than 1,000 posts with the hashtag #SupportYourNation that were posted across social media platforms in the space of four days. Valen has won the fabulous top prize of an all-expenses paid trip for two to the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup ™ Jumping Final 2015, when it returns to Barcelona.

Photos of fans, horses and even dogs supporting their nation with flags were posted by equestrian fans on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

The FEI’s Twitter account @myfei_home had the highest outreach of the year, with almost half a million views a day during the Furusiyya Final and over 2,500 retweets, boosting the FEI followers to over 40,000.

The #SupportYourNation posts on the FEI Facebook page got more than 6,000 likes, and over 400 pictures were posted on Instagram with the #SupportYourNation hashtag and the FEI Instagram account reached 4,000 followers.

A selection of the messages were displayed on the LED boards around the main arena in Barcelona so that athletes could see the messages of support just before they started to jump.

Ten runners-up, which were also selected at random, will receive a pair of grandstand tickets for a Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup ™ Jumping qualifier of their choice in 2015. The runners-up are:
