FEI World Championships 2022

You are here

As announced following the FEI Board meeting in Manama (Bahrain) on 17 November 2018, the FEI has opened a bid process for individual FEI World Championships in all disciplines for 2022 based on the following criteria:

  •        Preference will be given to multi-discipline bids;
  •        FEI World Championships for Dressage and Para Dressage should ideally be combined;
  •        Bids to host all seven disciplines in 2022 as FEI World Equestrian Games™ will also be considered.

Interested candidates were asked to send a non-binding expression of interest, to host one or multiple FEI World Championship(s) 2022.

National Federations/Organising Committees that have submitted an expression of interest were invited to a workshop held in Lausanne on Tuesday, 26 March 2019. At the workshop the structure, opportunities and minimum requirements of the FEI World Championships 2022 were presented.

Interested bidders, including those that did not submit an expression of interest, should refer to the FEI World Championships 2022 Bid Guide (link immediately below). The Bid Guide contains confidential information and is password protected. A package containing additional documentation has also been prepared by the FEI for all interested candidates. Please contact bidding@fei.org in order to access the Bid Guide and the additional documents.

A formal bid, outlining bidders’ plans and visions for hosting an FEI World Championship, may be submitted via the bidder’s National Federation no later than 7 June 2019.

All bids will be fully evaluated over the Spring/Summer of 2019 with allocation at the in-person Board meeting at the FEI General Assembly in November 2019.
