The FEI’s mission is clear, “to drive and develop equestrian sport globally in a modern, sustainable and structured manner with guaranteed integrity, athlete welfare, equal opportunity and a fair and ethical partnership with the horse”.
Comprehensive systems and mechanisms are in place to deliver on the FEI’s mission when it comes to the sport’s number one stakeholder the Horse; including dedicated discipline and Veterinary Rules and anti-doping programmes, an ethics integrity unit, educational initiatives for Officials and the general public, targeted IT and software solutions to improve tracking and monitoring of horses, veterinary research, and an elaborate footing project to name a few.
Mechanisms which are continuously reviewed and strengthened through dialogue and consultation with National Federations, recognised associations, the FEI Board and Committees; and partnerships with relevant global governing bodies and researchers.
Throughout this new section, we have provided a snapshot of the key decisions, initiatives and programmes in 2022 which reflect both the community’s commitment and the FEI’s ongoing work to echo the FEI’s mission and overarching value – Horse First.
