2022 – A celebration of the 10-year partnership between Longines and the FEI
The year 2022 marked an important milestone in the history of the Swiss watch brand Longines, with the celebration of its 10-year partnership with the FEI. Established in 2012, this successful partnership continues to flourish and stand strong, shinning a light on equestrian sport and cementing Longines’ presence as a major player in the field.
At the grand Final of the Longines FEI Jumping World CupTM, which took place at the Leipziger Messe in Leipzig (GER) in April, Longines continued to play a pivotal role in supporting the world’s leading athletes by providing their timekeeping expertise for this top-level Jumping event.
In August 2022, the vibrant city of Herning (DEN) hosted the FEI World Championships 2022, bringing together the world’s best Jumping, Dressage, Para Dressage and Vaulting athletes and horses. As Official Partner, Timekeeper and Watch of this much-awaited rendezvous, Longines was delighted to witness the outstanding performances of these great athletes and to commemorate the winners of each discipline with an elegant timepiece.
The Longines FEI Jumping Nations CupTM season 2022 came to an end with the prestigious Final held at the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona (ESP) from 29 September to 2 October. As the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the series, Longines proudly timed the victory of Team Belgium. With their conviction and tenacity, qualities necessary for them to excel in their competitions, Mexico’s riders claimed the coveted Longines Challenge Cup. In recognition of their great performances, all the winning athletes were rewarded with elegant Longines timepieces from the hands of Longines CEO Matthias Breschan.
At the FEI Awards Gala 2022 presented by Longines, which took place in the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa (RSA) in November, Longines’ Vice President Marketing, Matthieu Baumgartner, awarded the Longines Rising Star Award to British Eventing athlete Alice Casburn in front of over 250 representatives of the international equestrian community. To this occasion, and to acknowledge the achievements of this young talent, Alice Casburn was gifted an elegant Longines watch.
Celebrating its 190th Anniversary, the glamourous gala evening was also the perfect opportunity for the winged hourglass brand to celebrate its 10-year partnership with the FEI. With influential roles in the world of equestrian sport, both Longines and the FEI share the values of Elegance, Performance and Tradition. With its long-lasting passion for the equestrian world, Longines continues to strive for excellence and is looking forward to being a part of many more unforgettable sporting moments together with the fans, the athletes and its dear Partner, the FEI.
