A voice for Grooms
Grooms, who play a vital role in equestrian sport, have now been fully integrated into the FEI Family with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the FEI and the International Grooms Association (IGA) at the FEI Sports Forum 2022.
The FEI provided financial and legal support to set up the international body and, in the start-up phase and for the next four years (2022-2025), will continue to provide financial support. An online Grooms’ education platform was created back in 2015 under FEI Solidarity, and the MoU with the IGA now means that there will be a direct link to the Grooms, allowing them to access information on anti-doping, biosecurity and general stable management. Additionally, an online self-registration form has been developed for Grooms, allowing them to register with the FEI and obtain a personal FEI ID number. This allows them to access the FEI HorseApp to use specific modules.
