Other information END OF A PARTNERSHIP In December 2022 he and pas de deux partner Jolina Ossenberg-Engels announced the end of their partnership. "After we planned a comeback in the 2020 season, the coronavirus pandemic threw a spanner in the works. In 2021 we finally began competing again, and the joy and emotions from that remain unforgettable. In 2022, our big goal was to be able to wear the German colours again at a championship. But again, things did not go as planned. Our horse Caram [Caramoe], who has always been reliable and dear to our heart, was injured. We moved to our reserve horses but during the course of the 2022 season, we were reminded how big a role the horse plays in our sport. We had to admit that it was just not possible to build on the successes of the past. In the end, we decided during the course of the season that we would no longer continue as a pas de deux. However, the fact that we are now going our separate ways in vaulting does not mean that our friendship is also ending." (jolina_und_timo Instagram profile, 31 Dec 2022) CAREER BREAK In 2018 he chose to take a break from competitive vaulting after he and Jolina Ossenberg-Engels failed to make the pas de deux team for the 2018 World Equestrian Games [WEG] in Tryon, NC, United States of America. He decided to move to northern Germany near the Baltic Sea to work as a personal trainer at a hotel. He ended the break and started training again in October 2019.
