RETIREMENT
In September 2021 he announced his retirement from competitive vaulting after winning bronze at the German National Championships in Verden. "After 22 years of vaulting, it's finally over. I am incredibly grateful and fortunate to have had a career like this." He has served in the German armed forces [Bundeswehr] as a sports soldier. "Before I became a sports soldier in the armed forces, I had a full-time job for four years, spending 40 to 50, 60 hours a week, depending on what was going on. I trained late at night.
