Sporting philosophy / motto |
"The horses mean a lot. It is probably the love for the horses that started it all, and I am probably a little more emotional for both the horses and the sport. This makes it difficult when you have to sell the horses, but you have to do that to be able to have the opportunity and finances to buy new ones. I am in the stable a lot, I do the grooming and other things myself. I may not be the best riding technician, and do not have as good balance as the very best, but I can ride more on chemistry and on the connection I have with the horse." (hest.no, 27 Apr 2021) |

FAMILY AFFAIR
Her father Geir and her brother Johan-Sebastian have both represented Norway in equestrian jumping. The family run Stall Gullik in Lierskogen, Norway. "It's so funny how all three of us are so different. Johan is strong and tackles big horses with a lot of power. On my side I prefer smaller horses and ride a lot easier. Johan always rides very fast, I'm just riding fast when I have to. He never gets scared. Dad is very fond of the English system, while I'm extremely fascinated by the US. Johan likes the German system. Johan is always doing the bills at the shows, checking how much we need to win, and I do more of the hard work [conducting the horse sales]. We get a little selfish when it comes to competing for spots on the national team. We all want the place for ourselves. But in the end, we back each other 100%. It has only been a positive thing to have both a father and a brother alongside me in elite sport."
