Other information FROM MEXICO TO BRAZIL After more than two decades of representing Mexico, in 2021 he switched his allegiance to compete for Brazil. "I decided to change for Brazil after 21 years riding for Mexico. My brother [Rodrigo] is on the Brazilian team, so I would like to jump some Nations Cup [events] together with him. And I'm very excited now for the last years of my career trying to do something for my country. I always [planned] to come back [to represent Brazil] one day and I think it was the right moment. After I was not selected for the [2020] Olympics [for Mexico], I think I had good chances, I have a good horse and some political things were difficult for me, then I decided to change." (horsenetwork.com, 26 Sep 2021) WELL TRAVELLED He was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil, to an Argentinian father and later became a Mexican citizen after moving to Monterrey, Mexico. In 2008 he based himself in Liege, Belgium, in order to gain experience riding and competing in Europe. He has since relocated to Florida, United States of America.
