Eventing Update - 26 May 2011

Information to all National Federations regarding the use of K'VALL Stirrups

The FEI hereby wishes to inform all NF’s that the FEI Eventing Committee has not approved the K’Vall stirrup for use at international Eventing level as the stirrup does not allow enough freedom of movement for the rider and thus does not comply with the risk management preventive policy for the Cross Country Test.

In addition the Eventing Committee supports the decision of the FEI Dressage Committee for the Eventing Dressage Test not to approve the stirrup as it changes the functionality too much.

For further information please refer to the note posted by the French Federation , Etrier K’Vall (PDF) , whereby the stirrup was equally found to be un-safe for use in competition.
