How to upgrade your Level

Endurance Official Veterinarians and Endurance Veterinary Treatment Officials wishing to be promoted to the next star level must first satisfy the maintenance requirements relevant to their current status and star level. 
 
PROMOTION AS 3* ENDURANCE OFFICIAL VETERINARIAN (EOV)
 
Endurance Official Veterinarians work as FEI representatives and are responsible for ensuring that FEI regulations and veterinary standards are upheld throughout all phases of FEI Endurance events. 
 
Application Process
 
Applicants must have been listed as a 2* EOV for a minimum of 2 calendar years. 
 
Applicants must have passed an Advanced Course for Endurance Official Veterinarians and have officiated as a 2* member of a Veterinary Commission at a minimum of 4 CEIs (1* or 2* level) within the 2 years of submitting their Application for Promotion. 
 
Applicants must apply through their National Federation using the relevant Application for Promotion in which they will list the events they officiated at. 
 
The National Federation will proceed to the necessary verifications and approve or reject the applications. 
 
Upon approval, the National Federation will forward the applications to the FEI Veterinary Department that will promote the applicants who have satisfied all requirements.   

PROMOTION AS 4* ENDURANCE OFFICIAL VETERINARIAN (EOV)
 
Endurance Official Veterinarians work as FEI representatives and are responsible for ensuring that FEI regulations and veterinary standards are upheld throughout all phases of FEI Endurance events. 
 
Application Process
 
Applicants must have been listed as a 3* EOV for a minimum of 3 calendar years. 
 
Applicants must have attended at least one continuing education seminar/conference dedicated to equine sports medicine and/or exercise within the 3 years of submitting their Application for Promotion. 
 
Applicants must have officiated as a Foreign Veterinary Delegate or President of a Veterinary Commission at a minimum of 2 CEIs (2* level) within the 3 years of submitting their Application for Promotion. 
 
Applicants must have officiated as a 3* member of a Veterinary Commission at a minimum of 3 CEIs (3* level) within the 3 years of submitting their Application for Promotion. 
 
Applicants must apply through their National Federation using the relevant Application for Promotion in which they will list the events they officiated at. 
 
The National Federation will proceed to the necessary verifications and approve or reject the applications. 
 
Upon approval, the National Federation will forward the applications to the FEI Veterinary Department that will promote the applicants who have satisfied all requirements.   
 

PROMOTION AS 3* ENDURANCE VETERINARY TREATMENT OFFICIAL (EVT)
 
Endurance Veterinary Treatment Officials attend and treat horses at FEI Endurance events. 
 
Application Process
 
Applicants must have completed an advanced course in the treatment of competition horses, in particular Endurance horses, approved by the Endurance Technical Committee. 
 
Applicants must have officiated as a 2* EVT at a minimum of 4 CEIs (1*/CEN equivalent or 2* level). 
 
Applicants must submit a CV with 2 references demonstrating case exposure and skills in the treatment of the disease of Endurance horses to be presented to the Endurance Technical Committee. 
 
Applicants must apply through their National Federation using the relevant Application for Promotion in which they will list the events they officiated at. 
 
The National Federation will proceed to the necessary verifications and approve or reject the applications. 
 
Upon approval, the National Federation will forward the applications to the FEI Veterinary Department that will promote the applicants who have satisfied all requirements.   
 

PROMOTION AS 4* ENDURANCE VETERINARY TREATMENT OFFICIAL (EVT)
 
Endurance Veterinary Treatment Officials attend and treat horses at FEI Endurance events. 
 
Application Process
 
Applicants must have been President EVT at a minimum of 2 CEIs (2* level). 
 
Applicants must have officiated as a 3* EVT at a minimum of 3 CEIs (3* level).
 
Applicants must have attended at least one seminar/conference dedicated to equine sports medicine and/or exercise physiology, or relevant FEI course within the 3 years of submitting their Application for Promotion. 
 
Applicants must apply through their National Federation using the relevant Application for Promotion in which they will list the events they officiated at. 
 
The National Federation will proceed to the necessary verifications and approve or reject the applications. 
 
Upon approval, the National Federation will forward the applications to the FEI Veterinary Department that will promote the applicants who have satisfied all requirements.
