When and where did you begin this sport? He began riding at age 13. He had played football before that. (www.malgretoutmedia.com, 11 Mar 24)
Why this sport? His parents and his sister were already involved in the sport. ''When I was 13, I had to go and help my father at shows. If I had no football games on the weekend, I went with him. Seeing all that, I got a bit excited about the sport. I got really interested and I started to analyse people's rounds, asking why he did not do that, or this and then I thought that maybe I should also try riding myself.''

Other information His No.1 Mumbai has been competing without shoes since 2023. "In December the season was over for him and I watched Geneva from home with the Top Ten final and the Grand Prix and saw once again how the horses of Henrik von Eckermann, Simon Delestre and Julien Epaillard without irons flew through the course with such ease. I had always thought about it, but at that moment it clicked for me and I wanted to try it. I had the time and discussed this with my vet and my farrier - they both generally think this is a good thing for some horses. We tried it and Mumbai felt good from the first moment. I had the impression that he felt comfortable and the results proved him right." (www.reiterrevue.de, 22 Jul 2023)
